Becoming A Virtuoso Of Glamour Images

An ambitious photographer should give some thought to the nature of glamour images as they are, for, while being desribed by a wide range of definitions, they never are truly understood. Nude and erotic images do not mean glamour images. Sure, Glamour Images are frivolous and naughty, yet even though they are erotic, there is no room for pornography. In fact, there should be some aesthetics in glamour images and there should be art, romance and sexiness amalgamated altogether in a creation of an effective glamour image. A good glamour artist should not only be aware of capital technical issues e.g. lighting, gear and composition, but have enough charisma, energy and appeal to engage the model into psychological contact and encourage her to feel at ease for a great outcome.
Glamour image equipments include a studio, cameras, lighting, props, etc. Many soaring talents cannot afford such an amount of costly gear, having to rent or borrow it, even being assistants, thus learning to handle everything by direct experience. If you observed beauty photographs before, you must have noticed that vertical format dominates, creating some daring concept which is a counterweight to common and smooth horizontal one. Additionally, should you pay more attention to models on the pictures, you will notice they also have something quite slim and vertical to their faces and shapes.
Props and background are other thing one needs to keep in mind in creating effective glamour shots. Though the model should be your primary concern, a good background can deliver the necessary amount of edge and atmosphere to your creation. It shouldn’t be cluttered but rather solid. Entourage and small details are not a must-have, though in some situations they might be of use. For example, if one has to shoot a model on bikini at a beach, a surfboard would be a great prop and would add extra meaning to the overall image.
All those fancy technical nuances put aside, manipulating light is the basic and the most essential skill an artist needs in order to truly master Glamorous Photography. One cannot imaging photographing at all without light, and when it comes to glamour images, light plays a more important role. It comes from various sources, both human-made and natural, and it takes great skill to bend it to your artistic will; yet when you harness it, you can be called a true genius of glamour photography.
