One of the cool things about After Effects is the endless possibilities with tweeks, effects, layers and perspective and all these possibilities can be overwhelming too.
Fortunately, some that are quite simple pay in spades. There are tools to help you ‘trip the fantastic’, brainstorm to see countless possibilities of an effect you are working with, one is named, you guessed it, ‘brainstorm’ and as you apply this to an effect your are experimenting with, After Effects produces many variations on the tunable parameters available. You can simply walk through the results presented, see if you favor some, check which tuning blend produced it. Like many ‘assistants’ this will help you get the results you seek; it will also serve as a learning tool for for.
If you don’t have the budget to extend to a personality there are plenty of people in your local theatre groups with golden voices, people who love to be in front of a camera and have their five minutes of fame.

In many cases you can solve this by shooting image only and adding the sound later. Prepare your script and practice it with the video running. A good tip from a radio presenter is to speak as if you are projecting to the far corner of the room, and don’t let your voice drop on the end of a sentence.
It’s as simple as get up early, close all the doors and windows, remove any ticking clocks, turn off the refrigerator and record your voice tin time to the image as you play it through your TV. You will need a simple microphone on a lead. This way the sound has no unwanted background noise.
