So you want to have a Video of your conference/seminar?

By norman | October 17, 2009

We all know how much time and money goes into organising a conference, flying in the keynote speaker, getting 300 people to the venue plus planning the schedule so it will all run smoothly.
When it’s all calmed down how do you remember the momentum you got from listening to the keynote speaker or the objectives for the next year from the Managing Director.
Many people choose to keep a record of their conference by having a video made but what’s the best way to go about it?
These two media types work in different ways.

How to plan the conference

Here at A1 Conference Video Production we encourage you to start by asking yourself what you want out of this video.
what will your audience be interested in?
- How many people will be speaking in each session (that way we can make sure you’re getting the best sound possible)
- Where will the video be used …Online, DVD, Publicity Brochure
what are the key messages from the conference or seminar?
How is the video going to distributed

A1 Conference Video Production can then help you develop an approach for your conference or seminar video that will succeed.
Are there any obstructions in the room? Or access issues

The Day of the Conference

A1 Conference Video Production will always take a minimum of 2 cameras, synced up. Any less and the video would become very boring very quickly.
if the conference or seminar is illustrated with Powerpoint or Keynote slides or a software demo, we would capture that separately, using a screen-grab application such as Camtasia.  This will provide better quality than shooting the screen at the event.
If you have media files, let us look at them in advance as we can integrate them in the finshed product.

After the Conference…

we put together an MP4 rough cut for your approval, which will tell the story.
Once you approve this, we add titles, voiceover links, cutaways and other elements to provide a polished production.
