The World’s most popular video hosting site has just opened up a very interesting new feature, 3D videos. Last week testing was underway for the new 3D option and there are currently 12 viewing options including the default double left/right view, red/cyan glasses and amber/blue glasses. There are some very interesting new possibilities from Youtube’s new 3D feature, such as a news report released by CTV’s Southwestern Ontario about a pig farmer rally.

Considering that HD is now an option on YouTube as well, the future of Youtube is shaping up to include some mighty cool content. It makes you wonder what else might be in the future for your online video viewing pleasure. (go to social media marketing Vancouver to read more articles on this topic)

If you’re wanting to make a 3D video yourself follow these instructions found on Mashable’s ‘How to: Create Youtube Videos in 3D’ guide.

1) Use two cameras arranged like a pair of eyes.

2) Start both cameras at the same time.

3) In your video editing program, place the footage for the left and right eyes together in the frame side by side, with the right eye on the left and the left eye on the right.

Add your video! Edit your videos tags and add yt3d:enable=true. If video is widescreen, add yt3d:aspect=16:9 too.

People are aleady talking about the new 3D opion with some considering it a great new feature and others not convinced about the validity of the new trend towards 3D.Regardless, Youtube has quickly become one of the largest providers of 3D content and is giving the 3D movement a huge boost.

Seems like its time to pick up some 3D glasses!
